Do I Have To Relocate My Hands Free Sensor If I Install The Draw-Tite Hitch Receiver
Published 08/27/2021 >
Question:
Hi, My Acura MDX 2022 Advance comes with a kick sensor. Do I need to relocate the sensor or work perfectly with this hitch receiver? Please also advise any alternative item which does not need to move the sensor. Thank you! Regards

Yes, you might have to relocate the sensor. Typically relocating the sensor is not a problem on the MDX. My recommendation would be to install the trailer hitch, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV - 2", part # DT42MR, and test the hands free liftgate. If it works to your satisfaction, you do not have to change anything. We have had customers, and employees, have luck kicking their foot to the right or left of center to activate the hands free liftgate. It appears these kicks have to be very precise in their placement. Whether or not you have to relocate the sensor really depends on you. If it does not work as you think it should, then I would relocate the hands free sensor.
