What is the Difference Between the Sport Rider SE and the RV Rider?
Question:
Hi, You list the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE for my Minnie Winnie RV. I see there is also a specific RV model # HLY64FR. Id rather get the Sports Rider since it will be available sooner. Is there any advantage to RV model. I will be carrying 2 ebikes, one Rad Fat Tire at 66 lbs and the other is a regular Ebike at 45 lbs.

There are some differences between the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR and the Hollywood Racks RV Rider # HLY64FR. First off, the RV rider is constructed to be compatible with cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, fifth-wheel trailers, motorhomes, and flat-towed vehicles. The Sport Rider SE, on the other hand, is only rated for cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, and motorhomes. This does not affect you since you have a motorhome, but it is worth considering if you plan on using the racks on other vehicles.
Another advantage to the RV Rider is the shank length. The measurement from the center of the pinhole to the closest part of the RV Rider is 7-1/2 inches compared to the 5 inches of the Sport Rider SE. This is important because a certain minimum distance of shank length is required to clear your rear bumper (depending on what hitch you use). If you need a hitch receiver for your 2020 Minnie Winne, I recommend the Buyers Products RV Universal Receiver Hitch # 3371804060. Since this hitch will sit flush with your bumper, you should not have any clearance issues with that particular hitch. If you have a hitch on your vehicle, I recommend measuring the hitch's center pinhole to the outside edge of your bumper to make sure you can accommodate the Sport Rider SE or RV Rider.
The third advantage of the RV Rider is the versatility of the mounting cradles. Since the cradles on the RV Rider can slide up and down the mast freely, you will not need to have a bike frame adapter bar like # HRBA-PRO if you have a women's-style frame or a step-through frame on your e-bikes. If you purchase the Sport Rider SE, I recommend that you purchase the adapter bar if you have those styles of frames. The adapter bar will give your bikes a straight horizontal plane that is required for the Sport Rider SE.
