Is there a hitch cargo carrier that has a ramp AND let’s you fully open the tail gate of a Jeep Wrangler with a 33” spare?

Expert Reply:

To accomplish what you're wanting to do you need the following parts:

- Flint Hill Goods 29" x 50" Cargo Carrier w Ramp # FHG67ZR
- Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender # Y02483

This will place the closest edge of the cargo carrier about 22-3/4" out from the center of your hitch pin hole for tire clearance (you'll need to check this on your end as well) and allow you to swing the carrier out of the way when you need to open up the back door of your Jeep.

Please note that the extender will reduce the weight capacity of the hitch receiver on your Jeep by 50% so you'll need to keep that in mind when it comes to the cargo you need to haul.
