How do you attach just the battery lead to the battery?

In order to attach the Curt Adapter # C57672 to the battery you will need to run some wire. Our # ETBC7 kit comes with everything you need in order to complete this install. If you already purchased the adapter, the Wiring Kit for 2, 4, 6, and 8 Brake Electric Trailer Brake Controllers # 5506 should have the additional hardware and wire you need.
The 25' of 10-2 Duplex wire will connect to your adapter and run to your battery and brake controller. For the battery, you will need to connect this black wire to the black wire on your Curt adapter. This wire will run under your vehicle to the battery, ultimately up the fire wall and to the top of the engine compartment. Use zip ties to secure the wire in place.
Run the black wire over to your battery. Mount the 40 amp circuit breaker near your battery. Remove the excess black wire and attach a small ring terminal to the end, this will be hooked onto the silver side of the breaker. The copper side runs the hot lead to the positive battery post. Using some of the excess wire you removed, attach a small ring terminal to one end and a large ring terminal to the other. The small ring terminal will attach to the copper side of the breaker and the large ring terminal will be secured to the positive battery post stud.
I have included an install video on a 2008 Jeep Wrangler which shows the installation in detail, including running the wire for a brake controller should you choose to do so.
