How To Switch from 023-324-00 and 023-325-00 To Electric Trailer Brakes
Updated 08/11/2021 | Published 08/10/2021 >
Question:
I have 023-324-00left and 023-325-00 right hydraulic brakes on my trailer and wondering if I can go to electric as my master cylinder is shot Attwood and there is no replacement. I cant find the axle rating but I think it may be 6000 or 7000 lb. Its a boat trailer and not used very much so Im looking for the lowest cost solution possible. I was thinking of something along the lines of Item # AKEBRK-6 but Im not sure this is the way to go. What do you suggest? Thanks!

In order to convert a trailer from hydraulic drum brakes (023-324-00 and 023-325-00) to electric drum brakes you can use the Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-6. The hubs/drums can be reused but you will need to update the wiring using the Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit w/ Junction Box part # 277-000141. The old actuator can be locked out or replace with an option below.
