Question:
Does the C24UR allow backing up and sharp turns?

Expert Reply:
If the Curt Trunion Style Weight Distribution Hitch # C24UR is used without friction sway bars it does allow backing up and sharp turns, however it is recommended to use at least one friction sway bar # 17200 which makes it where you can NOT back up with the hitch hooked up.
Instead of this hitch I recommend the Fastway e2 # FA92-00-1000 which has built in two point sway control that does allow backing up and sharp turns. This hitch is a favortie of our staff and installers, and works with total tongue weights between 600-1000lbs so it is very similar to the # C24UR.
Now this hitch does not include a hitch ball so you will need either 2" hitch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" hitch ball # 19286.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
