Nothing makes a drive more tiring than a trailer that’s heavy on the tongue and light on control. The Curt Trunnion Style Weight Distribution System spreads your load evenly across all axles so your setup stays level and predictable. This system is made to take real use on the road. The trunnion spring bars are constructed from solid, forged steel for long-term strength and durability. Every component is powder coated to resist corrosion, so it can handle years of hauling in the elements. The result is a hitch that stays tight, keeps its alignment, and always pulls straight, even when loaded near capacity.
Getting the right tension doesn’t have to be a chore. The head tilt adjusts easily with two set screws—no stacking washers or disassembling parts. A snap-up lever helps you lift the chains into place without straining or cranking the jack too far. Once it’s dialed in, the hitch levels out your trailer perfectly, letting you tow confidently every time you hook up.
If you want to add sway control later, the system is ready for it. It’s built to accept an optional bar-style friction sway control kit (part 17200, sold separately). This lets you tune how much resistance the trailer applies when wind or passing traffic tries to push you off line. You can add one bar or two, depending on your trailer length, and adjust the tension by turning a simple handle.
Everything you need for the weight distribution side comes in the box—head assembly, adjustable shank, spring bars, lift brackets, lift chains, handle, and all required hardware. The shank gives up to 7-1/2" of rise or 1/2" of drop to help you find your trailer’s sweet spot. A hitch ball with a 1-1/4" diameter shank is sold separately so you can choose the correct size for your coupler. This system is a solid, dependable choice for towing that feels balanced, smooth, and secure.

Speedy delivery...5 days. Carton was damaged but all the parts are there. I did a partial assembly until I get ready to hitch the camper and the instructions are fairly clear and straightforward. If you don't see this review edited after today you can assume the hitch was all it was advertised to be. I'm very happy so far. Only 4 stars because I haven't used it yet.
Fast shipping, great hitch, easy to install, remember to be patient when adjusting the first time. I shoulda measured for trunnion bar length before ordering. I needed the 28" not the standard 30". I've ordered from etrailer twice, and am very happy with their service. Will definitely order more in the future.
Awesome WD hitch and fits my needs perfectly. I use it to Tow a travel trailer that weighs about 4,200 lbs. and does a good job. When using a WD hitch with this type of bars, UNHOOK the bars before backing in to your campsite to keep from damaging the hitch head.
C17345. This is a terrific Weight distribution hitch that I installed on a 2010 CRV to tow a Colman popup trailer. It's about 1600 pounds unladen. The car hitch was 2" lower with the trailer jack up. It didn't take much strain on the bars at all to get the car to be level. Great price, quick delivery and very good customer service. The hitch came this afternoon and an hour later the installation was complete. It took a bit of alteration to get the jack up out of the way. I drilled a new 3/8" hole for the jack to store up out of the way. Very satisfied.
I needed weight distribution for a light weight setup. I pull a 3,500 lb. GVWR cargo trailer with a small SUV. My max load will probably be 2,500 lbs, with a tongue weight in the 350 lb. range. I wanted something to reduce bouncing, as well as distribute weight. The Curtis C17345, in conjunction with a hitch tightener really beefs up the connection between tow vehicle and trailer.
The C17345 is sized just right for a small weight distribution application.
The A frame on my wedge nose cargo trailer is not long enough to accommodate the lift brackets supplied with the weight distribution system. I purchased a set of C17005 chain hanger brackets to use in place of the lift brackets. The combination of the C17345 WD system with the C17005 brackets is an excellent fit for my application.
I've done business with ETrailer.com for years. I've never had a bad experience with them.
Packaging this to survive the ups trip is a non winning battle. Arrived fine but the shear weight and shape of the items in the box and outer box is no match for the ups torture test

Excellent SystemI have been very happy with this weight distribution system. It has performed perfectly and is built heavy duty for hauling. It is much stronger and built better than most of the systems that I looked at. A+
Ok system, had to buy a longer shank for my set-up. Work fine but that's about it. After about 4k miles trying different adjustments decided to replace with a different system.
FYI, I am near the top of the TW with this.
Great price, seems more robust than other brands. Works great, no problems. I use it to tow new travel trailers from Indiana to all over the US. Helps with "porpoising" on some trailers.
It’s beautiful!!! Much nicer than expected and even better in person. Not only is it nice but super functional with safety in mind. My favorite part is that the ramp is so close to the ground so there isnt a huge step up into the trailer like most.
This is a great product! My truck almost rides smoother with my trailer hooked up then without the trailer. Installation was a piece of cake. 20 minutes after installing I saw first hand what can happen when you don't have a weight distribution hitch. As I was driving down the road pulling my travel trailer I noticed up ahead of me that there was a truck was pulling a heavy trailer coming towards me down a hill. The trailer began to sway and the truck could not handle it. The truck crossed into my lane and then back across the road going into a ditch and rolling over! Thankfully the people in the truck were okay, but the guy said he had is trailer loaded down too much and he didn't have a weight distribution hitch! As I was standing there calling 911 I looked over at my truck, and the whole setup from my trucks front bumper to the rear bumper of my 31 foot travel trailer was perfectly level. Safety first everyone! This is a great product!!
