This Curt trunnion-style weight distribution system balances the load by spreading tongue weight evenly across your tow vehicle and trailer axles. With a tongue weight range of 800 lbs – 1,000 lbs and a maximum gross towing weight of 10,000 lbs, it levels out your rig and restores stability so everything tracks straight and smooth. The solid-forged, 30-5/8" spring bars take on the weight without flexing, giving you a steady, confident tow every time.
Traditional washer-style setups can be tedious when trying to dial in the correct head angle. Curt fixes that with five built-in tilt positions on the system head. No more stacking washers or taking the assembly apart—just select the setting that levels your trailer and secure it in place with the included oval washers. It’s fast, accurate, and makes fine-tuning your setup straightforward whether it’s your first installation or a repeat hookup.
Getting your trailer level is key to safe towing, and this system’s adjustable shank makes that easy. The shank can be flipped to offer up to a 7" drop or a 10-1/2" rise, giving you flexibility for different trailer heights. At 11" overall length, it fits standard 2" x 2" receivers rated for weight distribution use and comes ready to mount—no extra hardware needed.
When you’re pulling serious weight, durability matters. The Curt system includes a heavy-duty formed head, forged steel spring bars, and sturdy lift brackets that hold tension under load. The entire assembly is protected by a carbide powder coat that resists rust and corrosion. You get a hitch that stays strong and performs reliably trip after trip.
This system focuses on pure weight distribution, but if you want to add sway control later, it’s designed to handle that too. Built-in sway control tabs let you attach a bar-style friction sway control kit (Curt # 17200, sold separately). It’s a straightforward way to add adjustable resistance when crosswinds or passing trucks start to push your trailer off course.

Fantastic hitch, worth every penny. You might need longer safety chains due to the added length.

OK...five stars now. One year later and Im very happy with this system. Easy to and reinstall when were camped. Hitch weight on my A-frame pop up is about 350lb empty so it ped my Terrain about 3. A level ride is much better.

Still working well. I did damage one hitch head in the first year, but know now to disconnect the bars before backing up. A $73 mistake, but still happy.
