Question:
I need to install the trailer brake controller Redarc Tow-Pro Elite that I purchased from you last March order …this weekend. I noticed on the Redarc control unit it says, “Use a 30A circuit breaker on wiring”. Do I need to install a 30A circuit breaker if I have the basic trailer tow package and the Redarc TPH-007? Going to pick up our trailer Tuesday!?? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Since your 2015 Ford F-150 has the factory trailer brake controller port and you are using the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # 331-TPH-007 you will not need to install a 30 amp circuit breaker.
That is only mentioned for the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR for vehicles that do not have the factory trailer brake controller port and need to hardwire the controller. Your truck already has an adequate fuse powering the factory port.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
