I am looking for a replacement hitch for a 2004 Chevy avalanche 1500 z71 I have a travel trailer with the following specs that I will be towing. Dry weight 5228 lbs Wet weight gvrw 6629 Hitch dry weight 629 dry axle weight 4599 I am wanting to replace my weak factory hitch. I will be using a E2 weight distribution set up. Please let me know what your recommendations are. Thank you.

The Curt # C15324 you mentioned is a great choice for your 2004 Chevy Avalanche, but it might be a bit overkill as a Class V hitch since it's not going to give you a higher towing capacity; it would be more peace of mind than functionality so it's not something completely necessary and a Class III hitch would do the job just fine. There is a not another Class V hitch available for your 2004 Avalanche 1500.
With all of that said, I recommend using the Curt # C13422, which can handle up to 1000-lbs tongue weight and has a 10000-lbs towing capacity when used with a weight distribution system like the Fastway E2 # FA92-00-0800. This is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver, so it will work well for towing your trailer and will make a nice replacement for your factory hitch.
