When my system arrives it comes with a 2inch ball. the trailer I just purchased requires 2 5/16. Is there anything I need to know before I buy a new ball to change it out?

The only thing you need to know regarding the correct 2-5/16" hitch ball for the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution # BXW1500 is the size of the shank to get one that fits. This system requires a hitch ball with a 1-1/4" shank so what you can use is the following hitch ball:
- 2-5/16" Hitch Ball - 1-1/4" Diameter x 2-5/8" Long Shank # C40085
