Helpful Expert Reply:
The Blue Ox SwayPro # BXW1500 actually has a reducer sleeve for the ball so you can us one with a 1 inch diameter shank or 1 1/4 inch shank. That being said, the ball size will depend on the trailer that you are towing. If the coupler on the trailer is for a 2 5/16 ball, I suggest going with the Draw-Tite # 63840. This is rated up to 20,000 pounds and has a chrome plating. If the coupler is for a 2 inch ball, the Curt # A-90 will also have a chome plating, but will be rated up to 10,000 pounds.
As to the shank, the Blue Ox SwayPro Shank # BXW4002 will have the needed 9 holes for adjustment. This is rated to match the 1,500 pound max tongue capacity of the # BXW1500 as well.
