Question:
I want to get a braking system for my Fiesta to use when I tow it. I already have a Demco Tow Bar and base plate. Since the battery has to be disconnected I have a battery disconnect switch installed, what braking system can I use with the battery disconnected and how would it work? Thanks

You can install a supplemental braking system on your 2011 Ford Fiesta even with the battery disconnected.
To use the Roadmaster Even Brake Braking System, # RM-9400, that you referenced, you will need to install the 12 Volt Outlet Kit, # RM-9332. This kit attaches directly to your vehicle battery and provides a 12 volt outlet for the Even brake system. The Even Brake system will consume battery power so Roadmaster recommends starting your car after towing for more than 6 hours and letting it idle for 15 to 20 minutes to recharge the battery. This system also includes a monitor for your RV that will notify you when the battery power is low.
Another option would be the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Braking System, # RM-8700. This system will also wire directly to your battery, bypassing the battery disconnect switch. The installation of this system is more involved, but it will only need to be installed once making your towing preparation easier. Another benefit to this system is it constantly charges your vehicle battery when you are towing so you do not need to worry about discharging the battery.
