Durable Acrylic Enamel Finish
This wheel has a durable acrylic enamel finish on the front. The finish is applied after the wheel goes through an environmentally safe zinc phosphate pre-treatment and is coated with an e-coat primer layer. Compared to powder coat finishes, this finish resists getting chipped from flying road debris or scraped from hitting a curb for a longer period of time. These acrylic enamel wheels performed for more than 1,000 hours in salt spray tests.
The stud holes on this steel wheel are beveled to ensure that the wheel stays tight against your trailer hub. This also eliminates the need to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Taskmaster 14 inch by 6 inch Vesper silver modular steel trailer wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now this is a heavy duty steel wheel, has the modular design with the silver finish to it and the modular design is the design that has the round holes that go all the way around the wheel. They use a silver acrylic enamel finish on this to resist chipping and other damage better than the standard powder coat finishes. And the finish is applied after a zinc phosphate pretreatment and then it covers an E-coat primer layer. This will give you excellent corrosion resistance.
Has a salt spray rating of more than 1000 hours. Now they do use beveled stud holes here which help keep your wheels securely in place on your trailer hub, eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of lug nuts. And you can see the valve stem is installed and included here. Now this wheel does not come with a center cap. If you do want one, we do sell those separately on our website, they're usually listed on this product page as a related product.
You do wanna make sure to get one that'll have a diameter that fits this pilot hole right here. The diameter on that is 3.27 inches. Now this wheel does meet the SAE J1204 standards. A few measurements on this we're gonna measure the diameter, which is 14 inches. So if we take our tape measure we'll measure inside to inside, you can see is 14 inches.
The width on it is gonna be measured the same way. It's inside to inside or bead seat to bead seat. And we put our tape measure on it, 6 inches wide. Now the bolt pattern on this one is a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel like this that's an odd number of lugs, what you'll wanna do is just pick any one of the holes, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes right across from it.
But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. So when you measure it, this'll measure 4 1/2 inches, so that means this wheel has a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. It does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20 and the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,200 pounds. I was able to install the wheels and tires immediately upon delivery. They fit perfectly.
The wheels look great and will be a welcome addition to my trailer. The packaging is good as the wheels arrived in good condition, however I have a suggestion: how about a label instructing the removal of the staples in the sides of the box before removing wheels. One of the pieces of cardboard had pulled loose in transit and I slightly scratched 1 wheel when lifting it out of the box. Otherwise all is ok and I will recommend you to friends. Thanks!

I purchased this wheel a year ago. It's been on my tandem axle dually trailer since I received it. It has performed as it should have. I only use the trailer occasionally to haul 12 ton loads with no problems. This was a hard to find wheel because of the unusual offset and back spacing. This is a quality wheel with no issues. The info on the etrailer site allowed me to positively identify the correct wheel to match up with the other 7 on the trailer. If you need this wheel, etrailer is the ONLY place you will find this high QUALITY wheel at a reasonable price!
This product has been great! Way stronger than the original rims on our dump trailer which we use to haul gravel, topsoil and our loader. Highly recommend using these wheels.

I have a 14k Gvw trailer loaded to 13k. Running load range G tires. Wheel cracks at the welds. Needs to be welded the entire circumference of the wheel.

The Vesper Steel Modular Trailer Wheel w/Offset-15"x 5 Rim-5 on 5-1/2-Silver is exactly what I wanted, looks perfect on our trailer.
Like most other reviewers, we were hunting a hard to find wheel with a lug pattern that the big box stores don’t stock. We found this website and it had lots of info about how to measure the bolt pattern. I had no doubt that what we bought was what we needed because of the abundance of good, easy to follow information. It was promptly shipped and sure enough, worked like a charm. We highly recommend!
Buyer beware. As I was advised by customer service, I should have done more research before purchasing, no price match. Before I even mounted the tire on the wheel, I found the same exact wheel on Tire Rack for 2/3 the price. A few dollars more, no problem, but $XXX from etrailer and only $XXX from Tire King
Fast as ####! Real happy wasn't 30 minutes after I got home I tires mounted and no more worries about not having a spare.
