Does MaxxAir MaxxFan Vent Repalcement Motor Have Replacement Brushes

Updated 02/08/2026 | Published 04/19/2021

Question:

Do you know where I can find brushes for this motor? Or do you have a part number for them? Thank you.

I checked with MaxxAir, and there are no brushes available for the replacement motor, which is the Replacement 12-Volt Variable Speed Fan Motor for MaxxAir MaxxFan RV Roof Vents # MA10-20968.

So if there is an issue with the operation of the motor, you would need to replace the entire motor assembly.

I have added a link below to a video review for you as well of the Replacement 12-Volt Variable Speed Fan Motor for MaxxAir MaxxFan RV Roof Vents # MA10-20968.

Is this a brush motor, or brushless motor?

@Jonas According to the manufacturer, the motors in the MaxxAir MaxxFan such as the # MA10-20968 mentioned above have brushes and ball bearings in them.

@JesseM Thank you, I really appreciate the follow-up. I'm buying aftermarket controllers for our MaxxAir fans. We've lived full-time in this rig for over five years, and I'm constantly replacing the boards and switches. Too expensive. I love the fans, and wanted to make sure I'm getting a proper controller. Thanks again. PS eTrailer has been a long time favorite supplier since we purchase our 1979 Avion 34V, in 2019.

If yoy know how to diaassembke and replace brushes. Replacement brush assortments contain brushes and brush springs for almost any electric motor. If there are no ther electric issues and the bearings are good do it your self.
