Does the curt 45048 hitch extender extend the hitch by 34inch or is the overall length 34?

The Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches - 24" to 34" Long # C45048 is measured by the distance between the center of the hitch pin holes. The hitch pin holes closest to each end are 34" apart center on center; the middle hitch pin hole to the hitch pin hole closest to the 2" receiver end are 24" apart.
