This Cannon hitch extender is specially designed to work with your 3" factory Ford Super Duty trailer hitch. Like most products from TorkLift, the primary purpose of this extender is to help create a towing setup that fits perfectly with your truck bed camper system. Not only will you be able to extend your trailer hitch receiver out far enough to clear the overhang of your camper, but you will also maintain a high enough weight capacity so that you can tow your trailer.
Most hitch extensions dramatically reduce the towing capacity of your hitch setup, making it difficult to tow a loaded trailer over a certain weight. The Cannon, though, creates such a sturdy connection with your 3" OE trailer hitch that you can still maintain a high weight capacity. To get the highest capacity possible, use a standard weight distribution system with the TorkLift towing setup.
The shank of the Cannon extension slides into your receiver and is held in place with the included hitch pin and clip. The connection between the extension and your hitch is reinforced with a set bolt underneath the shank that tightens up to the receiver for a snug fit and prevents rattle and movement in hitch.
To give you absolute peace of mind, lateral support chains connect to the hitch and the extension on either side of your setup. Just attach one end of each chain to the extension and secure the opposite end to your hitch. Then tighten the chains with the integrated turnbuckles. These chains not only provide extra security to keep the extension in place in your hitch, but they also transfer some of the weight back from the extension to your frame-mounted hitch.
If the camper is mounted on the truck:
Measure from the face of the truck's rear bumper to the outside edge of the camper's bumper. This is the length of the extension that you need.
If the camper is not mounted on the truck:
1. Measure from the inside of the front of your truck bed to the outside face of the truck's rear bumper.
2. Measure the camper's overall floor length from the rubber bumpers at the front to the outside edge of the rear bumper.
3. Find the difference between these 2 figures by subtracting. The difference is the length of the extension that you need.

Not 5 starts because the method of securing the wiring harness to this type of plate is horrible. Even on You Tube they expect you to detach the plug and wiring, route it, then reassemble. All that's needed is to thin or cut off one of the flukes on the plug.
Made very well 1 problem with the hitch was that the bolt was welded on the bottom and the sleeve would not come out had to cut it off

I installed the 48" extension on my F450-Arctic Fox 1150 combo. Very solid tow extension. Install (with the camper in the bed) took about an hour. The truck is dead level with the 5000lb camper, but the extension sits a little low. Will have to use a raiser for the ball mount. Towing a small trailer and ATV.
I rated it a 4 only because I haven’t installed it yet and put my camper on my truck to check the length. Looks like it’s gonna work though
Thank you for reaching out. After I received some of the missing parts I was able to use few days later. I'm still missing parts that were never shipped that I used 1/2 steel plate between my hitch and the 2 Grade 8 bolts used in the extension to snug and stop bouncing. So other than that. I'm able to tow my boat with my truck camper. But i would like to havr all the parts...
I couldn't use it as it would not go into my ford hitch. I would have returned it if I could.
Well built. 75 lbs. so once it’s on probably won’t take it off often.

It looks to be stout and will work for me, but it weighs way more than what I thought, not that that is a bad thing, just at 73 it will be a hassle to put in and out, like other things! Looks to be well constructed and should last longer than me!

One person install with the truck camper on the truck. Super simple. I used my rolling kobalt shop stool to carry the 48” extension’s weight when I slid it into the receiver. Easy peasy. I have a 2019 F350 DRW (8’ box) and a 2021 Arctic Fox 1140 with the Fox Landing. 48” was perfect. My Yakima bike rack is great with the Fox Landing up and the bike rack swings down when I want to lower the stairs. Highly recommend.
This hitch extension will be the last extension you will ever buy. It worked great towing my boat behind my 2017 F-350 Dually,( I purchased the 48” cannon) my boat is about 3000 lbs. this hitch is more than capable for towing, just about anything you can pull within Your hitch limits. I have an extended deck on my camper, and I had enough room to turn 90 deg and not be close to contacting the boat. Never bottomed out on a driveway, on my last trip. Quality hardware, super easy install, might need a little help inserting It into the receiver it is “heavy” Overall glad I purchased this.
This hitch is extremely heavy duty and well built! The ONLY reason I did not give it a 5-Star rating, is that I had to grind off weld splatter to allow it to slide into my receiver. Of course, this removed the factory finish. I did repaint, but quality control was lacking on this issue.
Simply amazing. Well built and fits my hitch perfectly. I highly recommend. Very heavy unit to slide in the receiver. it helped to stack some blocks behind the hitch to raise the extender to slide it in. when assembled there is absolutely no slop.
Seems to be a stout extension. I bought without having camper on truck so i might be a bit longer than needed for my application (lance 855s) but the sales guy had a good point about longer lenght may help with less chance of trailer making contact with camper. That guy's are always a pleasure to work with!
Heavy duty hitch extension. Works great on a Ford super duty with 3 inch receiver. Nice not having to use an adapter. ended up selling it as it was too long for my application.

20k miles with no issues. The only thing needed to do is make sure the chain are tight and all bolts are secured.
