Question:

Question, I need a hitch for my 2019 Volvo XC90 along with a 7-pin harness. I like the Curt hitch, but I need a 7-pin connector and I don't see one for use with the Curt hitch. I don't want to spend $1,200 for the Stealth hitch with its 7-pin harness. Please help.

You can use absolutely any wiring harness with your Curt Hitch # C53HR since they're not tied together in any manner; Stealth hitches just give you an entire package and the big draw of those is that they're designed to only be seen when you're towing, which is quite important to some vehicle owners. With that said, in order to add a 7-way connector, you'll need to start with a 4 way since that gives you the base connections needed for a 7 way.

To add a 4 way I recommend using the Tekonsha T-One # 118683, which will tee into your factory wiring and provides you with a reliable powered converter to protect your vehicle wiring from shorts. Once you've added the Tekonsha harness, you'll need to add the 7 way; for that I recommend using the # ETBC7L which contains all of the parts you'll need to install a 7 way to be used with a wireless brake controller. If you're planning on hard wiring a brake controller into your vehicle then you'll want to use the # ETBC7 kit.

Because the 2019 Volvo XC90 is not wired for a brake controller plug and play harness, I do recommend using a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180, which will plug into the 7 way and provide you with proportional braking for your trailer. The Echo is controlled by any Bluetooth capable smartphone running Android 4.4 or newer, or iOS 8.0 or newer and is our preferred solution for vehicles not equipped with a plug and play installation for a brake controller since it won't require splicing into any wiring in the vehicle.
