For your 2018 Volvo XC90, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C53HR. This Class III hitch is confirmed to fit your vehicle and will provide a 2 inch receiver opening for hitch-mounted accessories or ball mounts for towing.

I have attached the installation details so you can see exactly what the process entails. All the necessary hardware is included.

If you are looking to do any towing, I recommend the Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit # C59496. This is a universal, hardwire kit that will install a 4-Way connector at the rear of your XC90 to connect with and power your trailer's signal lights. A circuit tester is also included to help with installation. I have attached the installation instructions that you can use for reference.
