What is Required for Trimming the Panel on my 2018 Toyota Rav4 to Fit the Curt Hitch

Question:

Rav4-2018 requires cutting panels for concealed cross tube. It appears to be a trim and reinstall. Is the trim with a knife, saw or torch? Will the cut trim be visable from the exterior if/when panel is reinstalled? Thanks

When trimming for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13406 I generally use a razor knife. As you can see in the linked video my buddy Ryan used some snips to do the trimming.

There really is nothing you can see in passing after installation unless you really bend own and look for it specifically. Again this can be seen in the video Ryan did. It is on a 2016 model but it is the same installation process.

If you're going to be hauling the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118578 is a custom fit harness specifically for your RAV-4 and will allow you to use any trailer or accessory that requires a 4-way for lighting.
