Question:

I have a 60lb pedego electric bike. I need a trunk rack that will hold the weight and fit on a 2019 convertible mustang. Is that even possible? If not do you have any suggestions?

There are ways to get your electric bike to and from the trails on your 2019 Ford Mustang Convertible, but a trunk mounted option is not the solution because no trunk mounted rack can support a 60 lb bike. You may find one that has a capacity of 100lbs but that's the total for the whole rack. So if it's a 2 bike rack that's only 50 lbs per bike. Also, there is only one trunk mounted option for your Mustang and it is only 45 lbs per bike. So, really the only option you have is getting a hitch which there is only Class I options and only one bike rack that will support 60 lbs and is Class I compatible.

Although you are very limited on what you can do with a mustang when hauling bikes, we have the right stuff to make it possible! I recommend getting a hitch receiver like the Curt # C11405. Then you need to get the Thule T2 Classic 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH9045. It is class I compatible and can carry a 60 lb bike. I've included a video of the hitch install so you can do it yourself and also included the review of the Thule T2. Check them out to learn more! This is the only way to get your bike to where you want to ride.
