Replacement Hitch Pin Bolt for First Version of Yakima Bighorn 4
Updated 06/23/2020 | Published 06/21/2020 >
Question:
I have a Yakima Bighorn 4 bike Rack with a hitch bolt that has stripped threads. The car hitch is 2 inches. I am unsure of the model year of the rack. The current bolt is 3 7/8 inches long that is, just under 4 inches with the threads extending 1 inch down the bolt. The diameter of the bolt at the threads is 5/8 inches and the diameter of the bolt below the threads is 1/2 inch. It would seem that Yakima 8890260 would fit, but that bolt is about an inch longer than my current bolt. I know Yakima 8780022 does not fit because the diameter of the bolt is too small. What is the correct replacement part?

Thanks for the picture of hitch pin, but what was really helpful was actually the set of instructions you have in the background. Based on that you have the first version of the BigHorn which was made around 2001 and the correct hitch pin replacement is the part # Y8890200.
