These Thru-Bolts that are necessary to secure the Yakima On-Ramp RV rated Bike Rack were purchased as replacements for our existing bolt. We transfer the bike rack from the back of our trailer to the hitch receiver on our tow vehicle once we set up at the campsite AND noticed that the threads of these bolts become worn away as the bolt takes a beating while the rack bounces and swerves as the trailer moved down the road. We wanted an ample supply of these bolts since Yakima discontinued the Bike Rack itself from their lineup. We did not want to get stuck with a rack we could not bolt on SO we bought 4 of them.

The bolt is too short to go through the hitch and have the lock fit. Do you make a longer bolt that comes with the Yakima or equivalent lock?

I recently traded in my'15 4Runner for a '25 4Runner, and the new model has a metal bracket around the hitch receiver, making the width 3.5". The original bolt from my Yakima Bighorn 4 bike rack is too short now. I called Yakima, and they steered me to the wrong diameter bolt, which etrailer gladly let me return. This bolt is the correct diameter for the Bighorn 4 made between 2003-2006. It is almost long enough for the new Toyota. With the included lock washer it is too short. With a very thin flat washer it is long enough, and I will use the Yakima Hitch lock as insurance. This setup will be fine for local trips, and I'll just have to bring a wrench to periodically check the tightness on longer trips.
The customer service at etrailer is excellent! Jacob was very helpful and facilitated the return, and new purchase. I will definitely be buying from them in the future, and I have a new roof rack in mind for the new ride.

My Yakima hitch which I purchased back in 2003 had a hitch pin that worked with a Yakima hitch pin lock on my previous vehicle. I purchased a Toyota Tacoma with a factory hitch and the the original hitch pin was not long enough to allow the lock to be attached to the pin. This new pin which has a longer shaft solved the problem and I can now use the hitch pin lock again to lock my Yakima bike rack to the hitch.

The Replacement Hitch Bolt and Clip for Yakima HoldUp Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier - 2" Hitches - Y889020 was purchased for a used bike rack I purchased was missing. Unfortunately it was the wrong size, I had to purchase a different nut to fit the both. Yakima needs the list bolt size and number of threads so customers can tell if it will fit.

Needed a threaded hitch pin for my old Yakima bike carrier. The original that came with the carrier was too short for my Toyota Tundra that allowed the locking device to work. Stephen, I am having a problem with my old Yakima bike rack pin being too short for my 2015 Tacoma. Is this one longer than the original Yakima? The description isnt too clear on that. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.Thanks

Ordered a hitch for our 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. Works great. Then ordered a Yakima hitch-mounted bike rack. Also works just as advertised. Changed hitch mount from 1-1/4” with adapter to a straight 2” shaft. Much cleaner fit (no rattling). Needed the bolt/nut for the new configuration. This actually is the longest version made. It was redesigned a few years ago to fit the factory Toyota hitches as they have much thicker sidewalls that other hitches. What size hitch are you installing this in? And is it a factory or aftermarket hitch?
