In order to install a 7-way trailer connector on a 2006 Ford F-150 with factory 4-way trailer connector you'll need to use the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole part # 37185. The two 4-ways will plug into one another then you'll need to connect a few wires which can be seen below.
There are no plug-n-play options for a 7-way if your truck did not already come with one from the factory.
