Question:
Thank you this was very helpful. So, just to clarify, if I purchase the equipment you listed here and take it to my mechanic, he will have everything he needs to make my vehicle ready to haul the 1200lb camper? The wireless brake controller is sufficient in "making sure it has breaks" as you mentioned in your answer? Thanks in advance!

I checked your owners manual online and your CR-V is rated to pull 1500 lbs max as you stated. I wouldn't hesitated to pull a 1200 or 1350 lb pop-up camper but you do need to make sure it has brakes.
You will need a hitch, ball mount, wiring harness, and a brake controller. I recommend the following for your 2010 Honda CR-V:
-Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13555
-T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118427
-7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires # ETBC7L
-Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional # C51180
-Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches - 2" Ball - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 7.5K # C45534
I've attached videos of these parts to assist.
