THE QUALITY OF THE UNIT ITSELF SEEMS OUTSTANDING, BUT I ONLY GAVE A 4-STAR RATING BECAUSE THE FINE POWDER-COATING YOU ADVERTISE WAS SCRATCHED AND/OR WORN DOWN IN SEVERAL PLACES, THUS EXPOSING THE STEEL TO THE ELEMENTS AND RUST. I HAD TO PAINT IT WITH RUSTOLEUM. PACKAGING WAS VERY INADEQUATE.

Installed on a 2007 CR-V. Great fit and finish, and is more affordable and was easier to install than the other brands in which the bumper needs to be removed. Lori and the whole team have the best customer service/support that I have experienced in years. Thanks!

It was a pain to get my muffler off but the actual installation of the hitch was fine. This is a 2 person job. I would not recommend installing this yourself

  • Replacement Hardware for Curt Trailer Hitch on 2016 Honda CR-V
You sure can get the hardware for Curt hitch # C13119. All you need to do is go to Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches # RHK and in the "Hitch Item Number" box enter C13119, then select "Curt" from the "Manufacturer" drop-down menu and you're all set. Please note this hitch is going to require the use of stabilizing straps # 18050 with all non-trailer accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers in order to maintain the warranty. I've added a link to a demonstration video...

  • Can Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver be Bent That Doesnt Quite Fit 2009 Honda CR-V
With trailer hitch receivers that have brackets like the Curt # 13555 receiver that you purchased for your 2009 Honda CR-V, it is not uncommon for those brackets to get slightly bent during the whole shipping process. If you wanted to return it there are chances that the replacement could get slightly bent during the whole shipping and delivering process as well. You should be able to bend it back into place and if need be you can use a mallet to assist you. You could take it to a pro...

  • Towing Capacity and Recommended Towing Components for 2010 Honda CR-V
I checked your owners manual online and your CR-V is rated to pull 1500 lbs max as you stated. I wouldn't hesitated to pull a 1200 or 1350 lb pop-up camper but you do need to make sure it has brakes. You will need a hitch, ball mount, wiring harness, and a brake controller. I recommend the following for your 2010 Honda CR-V: -Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13555 -T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118427 -7-Way RV Upgrade...

  • Trailer Hitch Weight for a 2011 Honda CR-V
I'd be happy to help! All of the hitches for your 2011 Honda CR-V weigh relatively the same when it comes to the different classes, and while the Class I hitches definitely weight lighter I recommend using a Class III hitch since they have a 2" receiver and can handle a wider variety of accessories. Out of the hitches listed below I recommend the Draw-Tite Hitch # 75547 since it's a Class III hitch with a weight of about 27 lbs. Here are the rest of the hitches: Class I Draw-Tite -...

  • Which 2 Inch Trailer Hitch for 2007 Honda CR-V
I'd be happy to help you with that. If you're the type of person that doesn't care for the appearance of a trailer hitch, a mostly-concealed hitch like the EcoHitch # 306-X7291 is what I'd recommend. The only visible portion of the hitch will be the receiver opening and the loops for the safety chains. The remainder of the hitch will be concealed by the bumper. If the appearance of a hitch installed on your vehicle doesn't bother you and you'd like something at a more reasonable price...

  • Does a CURT Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Honda CR-V need to be Torqued a Certain Amount
Tightening down the CURT Trailer Hitch, # 13555, to the specifications in the instructions, linked for reference, is very important. You do not want to make it too tight or you could contort the hitch or vehicle metal or break a weld nut. Too loose and the hitch will not be safely secured. Lock washers and/or Lock-Tite are used to help hold the nut/bolt in the proper position one it has been correctly torqued according to the instructions and should not be used in place of a torque wrench. • Does Curt Hitch 13555 2007 Honda CR-V Well
The Curt hitch part # 13555 is a great fit for your 2007 Honda CR-V but I can see why the one you received didn't fit well due to the larger mounting flanges being pretty big. It's pretty common for hitches this size to get bent in shipping which you can bend them back as long as the paint doesn't flake or the show any creases. Or if you are referring to play between the hitch accessory and the hitch itself that is very common and there isn't a tighter version available.

  • Does the EcoHitch Trailer Hitch for a 2008 Honda CR-V Require Rear Bumper Trimming
The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7291 which is a fit for a 2008 Honda CR-V does indeed require trimming of the rear bumper fascia but no drilling. I have attached a photo of the required trimming for you which as you can see is very minor and there is even an included trim cover to place over the trimmed portion of the bumper which makes for a very clean install. Unfortunately, the draw back of the hidden install look and maintained ground clearance is trimming of...

  • What Measurements are Needed to Pick Out Correct Rise/Drop Ball Mount
I attached an FAQ that details how to pick out the correct ball mount for your towing setup with your Kia. Picking out the correct ball mount will allow your trailer to sit as level as possible. Basically you will first measure the height from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the hitch while on level ground. Next, you will measure the coupler height from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler when the trailer is on level ground. Next, you will need to compute the...

  • Recommended Ball Mount for 4 Inch Height Difference Between Hitch and Trailer Coupler
For lighter trailers, all you need to do is determine the height difference between the inside top edge of the hitch receiver tube and the bottom of the trailer coupler which will provide you with the necessary rise or drop needed (see linked article). Heavier trailers will cause the rear of the tow vehicle to sag by an inch or two, so you'll need to take that into account when choosing a ball mount to place the trailer ball at the correct height so the trailer is towed within and inch...

  • Ground Clearance of Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver on 2011 Honda CR-V
When we installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13555 on a 2011 Honda CR-V, we found it has a height of 15-3/4 inches from the top of the receiver to the ground. This is part of the formula you will use to find the correct ball mount, with the other being the height from the trailer coupler to the ground - the difference will be the rise or drop you need (if the coupler is higher you need that amount of drop; if the receiver is higher you need that amount of rise). We do offer the complete replacement hardware kit for this hitch as part # RHK. Simply enter that part number on our site and then enter "Curt" and "13555" in the appropriate fields on the RHK page. We will then send a complete exact hardware kit for this hitch.

  • Bike Rack for a Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver

The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2007 Honda CR-V is the Curt Class III Round Tube Trailer Receiver Hitch # 13555. • Is it Better for a Trailer to Be Slightly Nose High or Nose Low When Picking Out Ball Mount
Getting the trailer as close to level as you have should be just fine. If your only options are to be a tiny bit too high or a tiny bit too low I usually recommend going on the high side since most likely the suspension will compress slightly from the weight of the tongue weight and it will get very close to level.
