To use the Roadmaster base plate to Blue Ox/Demco tow bar adapter, # RM-033, you will need to install Roadmaster base plates like # 162-2. Then, to make the arms of the base plates removable, you will also need quick disconnects # RM-201.
If you have a Blue Ox Adventurer, Acclaim, Ambassador, Aventa, Aladdin, Alpha or Allure tow bar, you could just use Blue Ox base plates, # BX3310, and not worry about an adapter.
With the base plates and tow bar out of the way you will also need safety cables, like # RM-643, lighting like magnetic kit # RM-2120, and a supplemental braking system which is now required by most states.
The easiest braking system to set up and use is the Even Brake # RM-9400. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. Proportional systems are the safest way to stop and they reduce wear and tear on both vehicles.
I have included a link to our series of FAQ articles on flat towing for you. Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual for the proper towing procedure for your Saturn.
