Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Roadmaster Base Plate Adapter for Tow Ready Tow Bar

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look at this Roadmaster Base Plate Adapter for Tow Ready Tow Bars and replacement crossbar for your Tracker Tow Bar. This is going to convert your Roadmaster base plate brackets to fit a Draw-Tite, Reese, Valley, Eaz-Lift and Tow Ready tow bar. And this is also going to replace the full length crossbar that came standard with your Roadmaster Tracker tow bar. Now if you do plan to use the removable Roadmaster brackets XL or EZ, you will need to add quick the quick disconnects that you see there on your screen, RM-201.

Those are sold separately and also as you can see there on your screen, I do want to make sure that you know that this is not going to fit the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Brackets, as you can see there on your screen, the EZ5, MX or MS Series brackets, so just so you're aware of that. Now this does include the mounting hardware and what I did there is I just kind of loosely mounted it to where it's going to mount and go through. Instructions are also included to guide you through the simple installation process and this does have a limited lifetime warranty. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you.

Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

Hey John, The Roadmaster Base Plate Adapter # RM-025 is going to have a 28-1/2" measurement on center between the mounting holes where it attaches to the vehicle base plate. And the on center measurement on 31". What are you towing the Mini with?

  • Adapter Needed For A Reese Tow Bar And Roadmaster Baseplate On A 2003 Honda CR-V
Hi Kay, Depending on the model of your Roadmaster baseplate you'll need a different adapter for a Reese tow bar. The # 1541-1 you were looking at is an XL model and would need adapter # RM-025. This adapter fits EZ, EZ2, EZ4, and XL (Crossbar Style) Roadmaster baseplates.

  • Can a Jeep Wrangler be Flat Towed by the Front Bumper
I have a solution for you, however, I would not recommend mounting a tow bar directly to a bumper on a Jeep, whether it is OEM or an aftermarket bumper. Jeep does not recommend towing the Wrangler with the OEM bumper because it was not designed to pull the weight of the vehicle. Also, mounting a tow bar to a bumper would require drilling. I spoke with my contact at Pavement Ends and she said drilling into this bumper would void the warranty and they do not recommend using it to tow the...

  • What is the Measured Distance Between the Attachment Points for the Tow Bar on the Tow Ready Adapter
I went out and measured the distance between where the legs of the tow bar attach on the Roadmaster Base Plate to Tow Ready Tow Bar Adapter, item # RM-025, and the on center measurement is 31 inches. The distance on center between the mounting bolt holes that attach to the vehicle base plates is 28-1/2 inches. This adapter is designed for use with the Tow Ready Tow Bar, item # 63180. I took photo of the adapter and added the dimensions I took, for you to review.

  • How to Attach a Tow Bar to the Roadmaster # 1528-1 Base Plate on 1998 Honda CRV
The method of connection will depend on which manufacturers tow bar you are using. Some vehicles use a base plate kit that features removable draw bars, which might be what you have (see photo). The type of base plate for the 1998 CRV uses standard base plates, which are not removable. There is also a base plate kit, # 1528-3 that would allow the draw bars to be removed. For a Roadmaster tow bar, you would use a set of quick disconnects, part # RM-201. One half of the disconnect would...

In order to flat tow your 2000 Honda CR-V, you will need to first add base plates. You can use the XL style base plates that you have referenced, # 1528-3. • Can a 2008 Honda CR-V be flat Towed Behind and RV Using a Tow Ready/Reese Tow Bar 63180
I would actually advise against using Tow Ready tow bar # 63180 for a couple of reasons. First, this tow bar is rated for a maximum of 45 miles per hour which is fine for short hops around town but useless for highway use. And second there are base plates required, # 40602, but they are going to require major modifications to the bumper and need to be reinforced so professional installation is recommended. The other option is to use custom base plates # RM-521559-4 with an adapter # RM-025...

  • Base Plates and Crossbar Needed for Roadmaster RM-020 Tracker Tow Bar on 1992 Geo Tracker
For starters, you'll need a base plate kit like # 118-3 which is a fit for 2 door Geo Tracker models only. From the photo you provided, it appears you're missing the crossbar that the # RM-020 uses, unless you already have it an it just wasn't shown in the photo. A replacement crossbar is available as part # RM-025. The Tracker tow bar would typically be permanently installed on the vehicle, but it can be removed by removing the drawbars of the # 118-3.
