Question:
I just purchased from eTrailer the 306-X7904 front hitch for my Ford Diesel F250. Installation went fine. I also purchased the e98873 motorcycle carrier. The issue I have is that the X7904 is way to high when using the motorcycle carrier. My question is can I use a -down hitch adapter like the Blue Ox BX88132 to lower the motorcycle carrier by 10 inches? The motorcycle is a Honda Grom MSX-125 that weighs only 229 loaded with Fuel.

It is possible to do this as long as you stay within the weight limits but using the Blue Ox part # BX88132 is not allowed it is specifically designed for flat towing and has no tongue weight rating. Instead the Roadmaster High-Low Adapter - 2" Hitches - 10-1/4" Rise/Drop part # RM-048-10 is designed for uses similar to this and will offer a tongue weight rating of 400 lbs. So as long as your carrier and bike weigh less than that you are in good shape.
Also please note that when using with a hitch-mounted accessory, such as a bike rack or cargo carrier, the tongue weight of your hitch will be reduced by 50 percent. This would bring your hitches rating down to 500 lbs. So with this adapter and hitch combination your max load will be 400 lbs. in any way you decide you use it.
I highly recommend you pick up two of the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches part # RM-061 one at the connection of the adapter to the hitch and one at the connection of the carrier to the adapter. These will take a lot of the movement out of this setup and it won't be waving around side to side or bouncing up and down nearly as badly as without.
