Patriot Hitch Adjustable Drop Receiver Compatibility With a Motorcycle Carrier

Question:
Hi, I have a dual motorcycle carrier that attaches to the tow receiver of my SUV. My current carrier sits high on the my SUV since it was also designed for lower vehicles not to drag. Im looking to lower this setup with an adjustable hitch. My question is if this hitch is strong enough for a fully loaded carrier ~600lbs. The issue is not purely tongue weight as the carrier acts as a cantilever on the hitch which Im sure makes it heavier. My vehicle has a max 1k tongue weight. Not sure if anyone has any experience with this? Thanks

Yes, the Patriot Hitches Adjustable Drop Hitch Receiver Adapter # PH67SR will work with your motorcycle carrier. This assembly is rated for up to 700lbs of tongue weight which is below the 600lbs you mentioned having with your current carrier. Since the adapter was designed to we used for both trailers and hitch mounted accessories you will not have any issues with the weight.

I want to use a motorcycle carrier on a high truck, dodge power wagon, so look to drop it around 7". Tongue weight at the hitch face will be 500 pounds but it sticks out about 16" from the truck so more torque. What is the heaviest drop receiver you have? Thanks for the help
