Note: This adapter is designed to flat tow a vehicle only. Do not use to tow a trailer. When using with a hitch-mounted accessory, such as a bike rack or cargo carrier, the tongue weight of your hitch will be reduced by at least 50 percent.
Most tow systems require some sort of hitch accessory to either raise or lower the tow bar to an appropriate level. The "Safe Zone" for a motor-home-mounted tow bar ranges from 3" above level to 3" below. Car-mounted models must be absolutely level. This high-low adapter can provide you with the necessary drop or desired rise to achieve a level tow bar setup.

Perfect fit on the new Ford Escapes. No exhaust damage melting cargo on our hitch carrier as before.
Does not fit in the receiver hitch well. To much slop. Used it to flat tow Jeep and it walked all over the road. Waste of money.

Thanks for your feedback, Arthur. I’m sorry to hear about your experience, that’s definitely frustrating. With hitch adapters, a small amount of movement can be normal due to built-in tolerances between the receiver and accessory, but it shouldn’t feel excessive. Using an anti-rattle device like part # e38FV to help reduce that play.
Fast delivery, product is exacly what i needed....I'm not towing anything but needed it to haul a cargo carrier with my jeep, my spare tire was to big and i needed to drop about 6" to clear wheel, an extention would not work so i found this product and it works perfect...!

Fantastic!!!
Works well to allow proper connection to [flat tow] my Chevy Sonic. Once installed I have never removed it, it still looks new, and highly recommend it if you need to reduce the angle of your towbar.

It arrived on time and in pristine condition by an economical shipping method. I still may have to replace it as I need more assurances from Roadmaster before I go traveling with it. E trailer is a fine company to d business with.

It works very well. It has not failed me even once. Need to be careful when connecting it to the vehicle being towed.
Easy to install and works perfectly for our RV. Our Class C sits lower than our Jeep. This adapter puts us in the sweet spot for flat towing. Solid construction and I'm not worried about it at all.

Works perfectly! We havent had any issues, and its not even something we think about anymore. That says all you need to know about this product.
I originally purchased a cheaper product. When I read the "manual" that came with it it stated "Not for Towing" Well what else would you do with it? This roadmaster product is really well made and like a lot of things in life complain about it the day you pay for it but never complain again. I will feel comfortable towing my Honda CRV and will not look back - pun intended!

These are technically not meant for towing a trailer. This is why it states that. You can definitely use it for your flat tow set up. You can even is it for a bike rack or cargo carrier.

I recently traded in my old toad, a 2009 Honda Fit, and rigged my '05 Element to tow instead, The Element was exactly six inches taller at the tow bar level, and this high-low adapter worked perfectly to bring my tow angle up to level! This adapter is a heavy-duty and well-crafted piece of equipment. Thanks again, etrailer.

My 6 hitch is still in perfect shape. When I began using it last year I spray-painted it twice, and put a thin film of grease in the hitch-pin holes, and it still looks like new, except for a few stickers...
I received the Roadmaster High-Low Adaptor Hitch Mount in 2 days. It is exactly how it was described and pictured in the catalog. It is heavy duty with a 6000 lb tow rating. My tow vehicle is 4400 lbs so I don't anticipate any problems. I haven't used it yet, other than inserting it into the receiver. It will solve the tow bar level issue with the tow vehicle.

Works perfectly for the vehicle Im towing behind my motor home.
My 6" High-low drop down hitch was just what I was looking for looks very well made, the receiver part was a little tight for my tow bar to slip in easy had to hammer it in. The finish seems to be of high quality and I know it will give me many years of service. The shipping and packaging was very good and arrived one day earlier than expected. Would buy from E-trailer again.

I'm using the RM-076 as a 6" hitch riser to raise a bicycle rack and the front of my truck. Very well built.
This hitch works great. The distance was perfect to keep my belongings away from my poorly engineered exhaust pipe. I would make sure I shop here before I go anywhere else for my trailer needs.

Item feels very heavy and well build. Also consider that will "stick out" of your rear bumper a good 10- 15 inches... see picture!
Car is Chevrolet Tracker- idea was to install rear step on the extension but at the moment I just have a towing shackle...

Have had good luck with RoadMaster products for many years and I have no doubt that this 6" drop adapter will have a long service life as well. I'm using it to level the tow bar between an F550 4x4 and a Geo Tracker 4x4.
Just purchased.a used Class A motorhome and recognized that the receiver was at such a height that would require a high/low adapter extension to line up better with our tow vehicle. Ordered it on a Thurs night and received it the following Monday. It appears to be of excellent quality and the price and shipping charges were much less than the price at my local RV dealership!
Decided to flat tow my Jeep behind our new motor home. The Jeep has a 3" lift and an after market bumper with D-ring tabs that I will be using to mount the tow bar. To stay withing the tow bar specifications, this adapter is exactly what I needed. I was going to make one but for the price and delivery, it was a no brainer to buy. It's well made and well finished. Another picture in a review had my exact situation and made it easier to make up my mind.

Great, work perfectly. Make sure to use an alignment collar. Your reciever could have slop in it
Once again, Etrailer had just what I was looking for. This 6 inch lowering hitch allows my electric bike carrier to be lowered by 6 inches so that I do not have to lift so high to load the bikes. The extension also allows me to open the tailgate even with the bikes loaded.

Still great but I also purchased a small bike ramp to go with my Swagman E-Bike carrier. Virtually no lifting. Great products.
