Can I Tow with the Tailgate Down Using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank EQ90-02-4600

Question:

I have a f150 6.5 bed and a atv that needs the tailgate down to haul. Im pulling a trailer that weights 6500 loaded 4550 factory. The atv weight is 800 to 850 lbs. Will the eq90-00-0600 allow me to pull the trailer with the tailgate down. And not change the turning radials? Do you know of any other problems.

When used in the drop position and not the rise, the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ90-02-4600 should not make any contact with the tail gate or create any issues with limiting the turning radius. I actually found a photo that one of our customers sent in of them using theirs with the tailgate down and an ATV loaded in the back of their truck. This shank has a length of 18", so it will move the trailer and weight distribution hitch well away from the vehicle and out of the way of the open tailgate.
