  • Solution for Needing Longer Extension with Recurve WD System to Allow Tailgate to Open
Hey Branden, I have a great solution. So what you'll want to do is go with a longer shank for your Recurve WD system like the part # EQ90-02-4500 which will give you the extension you need to allow your tailgate to open without hitting the tailgate. Extensions don't work as they aren't rated for use with WD systems. The shank is the same design as what the Recurve uses.

  • Would Switching a Weight Distribution Shank to A longer One Change the Height of a WDS
That sounds right to me Travis, but while you have everything pulled out it wouldn't hurt to re-measure and double-check. The height shouldn't have changed and everything should essentially go as you've described, but If it were me I'd take a quick measurement to double-check.

  • Longer Shank Equal-i-Zer Weight Distribution Shank
Do you know how much additional clearance you'd need to allow the tailgate to open? 12inches is a longer shank but we might have a slightly longer option. But if you need considerably more length we won't be much help.

  • Extended Shank for a Weight Distribution System
The longest extended shank we offer will be the Equal-i-zer # EQ90-02-4500, which is 18" long, has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 1,400 lbs, fits 2" x 2" receivers and offers up to a 7" rise or 3" drop. Equal-i-zer # EQ90-02-4600 is similar, with the only difference being it offers an 8" rise or 3" drop. I've added links to video reviews of each of these shanks for you to take a look at.

  • How Can I Extend Out My EZ Hauler Trailer While Using a Fastway E2 Weight Distribution Hitch?
Hello Adam, We can definitely get you set up so you can accomplish getting the ramp up to your tailgate. However, it is not recommended to use a hitch extender with a weight distribution system. The good news is that you can use the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4500 with your Fastway E2. The # EQ90-02-4500 is going to extend you out by 18", if that is too long and you want to stick with the 14" extension then the Curt Weight Distribution Shank # C17122 will be the one for you...

  • Looking For Equal-i-zer Hitch With Extended Shank To Allow Tailgate To Be Opened
Hello Glenn. We do offer an extended shank that can be used with a WDH, the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4500. This shank is about 6" longer than the standard shanks that come with the Equal-i-zer hitches. That said, the Equal-i-zer WD hitches are actually one of the lightest on the market, so if you are looking for something that weighs less, I am afraid we do not have anything significantly lighter to offer you. Really any 6,000 lb rated WD hitch will weigh right around 100...

Yes the 18 inch Equal-i-zer shank part # EQ90-02-4500 will work great in your truck hitch and with your Equal-i-zer weight distribution system. The longer length will give you the clearance you are wanting.

  • 2-1/2 Weight Distribution Shank For Equal-i-zer System
Since you are using a weight distribution system similar to Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET, the product we have with the longest shank bar length that will work with unit is the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4900. Its shank bar length is 12". This product has a rise of 10" and a drop of 6" from top of hitch receiver tube opening.

  • Will A Longer Shank On An Equal-i-zer WDH Help With Turning And Tailgate Clearance
Swapping out the shank of your Equal-i-zer WDH with a larger 18" shank would push the trailer back an additional 6" for more clearance but there's no way for me to confirm that your trailer would completely clear the tail lights on your truck without physically testing it. A longer shank would also help with your tail gate clearing the jack, but we'd need to measure to absolutely confirm if it would clear. We have two 18" shank options, which I've listed below: 8" Rise, 4" Drop - 600 to...

  • Weight Distribution Hitch Shank For Equal-i-zer With 12" Between Hitch Pin Hole and Mounting Holes

  • Longest Weight Distribution Shank Available for a Equal-i-zer WDS
The Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4500 you're looking at is the longest WDS shank offered measuring in at 18" long, however to get you to that 24" you'd need to use a hitch extender like the Curt Hitch Extender # C45791 which measures 8" long and will bring your total length to 26". The only caveat is that whenever you use an adapter like # C45791 you are going to reduce the overall capacity of your hitch by 50 percent.

  • Recommendation for Allowing Clearance To Open Truck Tailgate When Attached To A-Frame Trailer Jack
I have a recommendation for you as the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K you found is our best solution for moving the jack out of the way for a tail gate. Instead it is much easier to switch to a ball mount with a longer shank like the Brophy # BH20. This ball mount is 13-1/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball mount hole. Most ball mounts are only 8" long so you can measure your trailer to determine if this is going to give you the distance you need to still...

  • Will 18" Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank Work with Fastway e2 Weight Distribution - Round
Yes, the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4500 will work with the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control - Round like part # FA94-00-1061. The shank has a 1,400 lb tongue weight capacity so as long as your system does not exceed this, it won't reduce capacity.

  • Recommended 7 Inch Hitch Extender for a 2 Inch Hitch
Yes, we do but unless you're using a weight distribution system you'll have to go with the 14" Gen-Y Hitch Hitch Extender for 2" Trailer Hitches item # GY89SR. It is the only one with a capacity high enough to support a 7,000 lbs trailer. If you are using a weight distribution system then the 7" Hitch Extender For 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver item # HE06 would work great. Please note that every hitch extender on the market will reduce your hitches capacity by 50%. A better option would...

  • Is There an 18 Long Weight Distribution Shank that is for a 2-1/2 Hitch
I have a solution for you, but currently we do not have a 2-1/2" shank that is 18" long. The Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4500 measures 18" long with a 7" rise/3" drop and fits a 2" hitch. Currently the longest we have for a 2-1/2" hitch is the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4700 which measures 12" long with a 7" rise/3" drop. • Electric Jack Wont Clear Tailgate on Truck.
Your Electric Jack # EJ-3520-BBX would be difficult to turn the 90 degrees that you are looking for. The mounting flange only has the 3 outward tabs which means you would have to either turn the jack 120 degrees or drill new holes into your mounting flange on your trailer. The Bulldog Powered Drive Trailer Jack # BD500187 comes with a round mounting plate that has provisions for multiple mounting patterns such as the 90 degrees that you are looking for. This would be the easiest way to...

  • How To Determine The Correct Rise/Drop For A Weight Distribution Shank For 2 Inch Hitch
Choosing the proper shank is a very important task. The shank will correspond to the height of both the vehicle and trailer. In order to choose the proper shank, you will need to do a bit of measuring. To select the correct rise/drop, you will first measure from the ground up until you reach the top of your vehicle's trailer hitch opening. You will then need to measure from the ground up until you reach the bottom of your trailer's coupler. The difference between the two will provided...

This has a tongue weight range of 600-1,400lbs. There are hitch receiver extenders available but none of them are compatible with a 2" weight distribution hitch. • Longest Shank for Weight Distribution System
That's a very cool bike so I can see why you want to bring it but the issue is that any type of extension is going to reduce your tongue weight capacity by 50 percent which is not something you will be able to do. The only thing you can do to add length is use a longer shank with your weight distribution system and the longest shank is 18 inches. You will need to know how long your system's current shank is and measure how much more room you need to have your tailgate down. The two 18...
