Is the Blue Ox Tow Bar 7330 Compatible with Blue Ox Base Plates for a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee I also own a Blue Ox 7330 tow bar. Will the tow bar marry up to the Blue Ox BX 1121 base plate, which I just bought from you? The adapters at the end of the tow bar have a single spade or piece of steel with a 1/2 inch hole. Do I need an adaptor with a triple lug adaptor like the BX 88151? I know it is an old tow bar but it is still serviceable and I would like to use it if I can.

I spoke with my contact at Blue Ox and she said that your 7330 tow bar is compatible with the base plates, # BX1121, and you will not need an adapter.

You will also need safety cables, like # BX88197, and a lighting solution. The easiest lighting solution is a magnetic set such as # RM-2120.

Most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Patriot # BLU37TR. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. Proportional systems are the safest way to stop and they reduce wear and tear on both vehicles.
