Question:
Can I install C55774 on my 2020 Ford F-150? It only has the factory 4 way flat trailer connector but I need to upgrade to a 7 so I can control the electric brakes on my new travel trailer.

I do have a way you can upgrade your factory 4-Flat connector, but the needed plug to install the Curt # C55774 isn't there on your 2020 Ford F-150. This will only work for vehicle's that were originally equipped with the 7-Way from the factory. There isn't a plug and play connector available to add a 7-Way to your truck.
Instead, you'll need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller, # ETBC7. The included adapter will plug into your existing 4-Flat. From there, you'll just need to make the rest of the connections for your trailer 12V power supply, brakes and reverse lights (if equipped). The kit will include everything you'll need to complete the installation, including the length of wire to run your hot lead, butt connectors, ring terminals, circuit breakers, etc.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Brake EVN # TK63VR and custom adapter # 22292. The I-Command will activate your trailer brakes in proportion to the deceleration of your F-150. The custom adapter lets you install the brake controller by simply plugging into the factory plug found under your dash.
I've attached an couple video resources for you to check out at the bottom of this page.
