Question:
Bottom-line up front: I am concerned about having proper spacing to function properly, I have “reverse leveled” my 2017 F250 by swapping in shorter stock rear blocks ~1.5” shorter. Expert Michael H lists the spring heights and bracket heights I inserted below, but didn’t include the 1” spacer in his answer when describing the height of the “heavy duty” kit, and therefore the TFRTT350J kit appeared shorter as opposed to Expert Jon G Q: Is the spacer in the TFRTT350J kit optional, or attached? Expert Jon G has indicated that the TFRTT350J is for “heavy duty Severe Service Vehicle” applications and is taller all together at 7” total 2 3/8”bracket plus 1” spacer plus 3-5/8 ”rubber spring unit vs. the TFR250SDJ at 6 7/8”2 3/8” bracket plus 4 1/2”rubber spring unit. However, if that’s the case then the “heavy duty” version is rated at 600 puunde less rated @ 8,000 lbs. than the “standard duty” TFR250SDJ version rated @ 8,600 lbs. Q: Is it indeed true that the “heavy duty” kit is rated for less weight and costs roughly $XXX more?

Helpful Expert Reply:
It is true that the 8,600 lbs capacity Timbren Jounce-Style Springs # TFR250SDJ measures 6-7/8" altogether while the 8,000 lbs capacity Timbren # TFRTT350J for heavy duty (Severe Service Vehicle) applications measure 7" altogether. I went out to the warehouse and double-checked these measurements just now.
The 1" space for the # TFRTT350J kit is optional and does not have to be installed.
I know it seems a little weird about the pricing, but it is important to remember that these are technically 2 different applications as they are designed for 2 different types of vehicles. This factors into the pricing as well as other things like availability and what our cost is for the products.
