Which Suspension Upgrade is the Best Option for a 2025 Ford F-350?

Updated 08/26/2025 | Published 08/23/2025

Question:

Hi, I have a food f350, just loaded a truck camper, I’m well within payload, but I have a bit of squat and side to side sway, I’m trying to understand the difference between airbags, sumo or timbrin springs and stable load, and what might be the best options. Appreciate the help

Hey Bob, congrats on a setting up a new camper! Out of all of those options you'll also need to consider daily driving comfort unless that camper is a permanent addition to your truck bed. Listed below are a brief breakdown of each and a recommendation.

The TorkLift StableLoad item # TL89CR that fits your F-350 is going to pre-load your overload springs which will help keep you level and reduce sway/body roll. The overload leaf is a separate, often shorter or differently shaped, spring positioned to make contact with the main spring pack when the truck is under load. I know you said you were experiencing sag. If all of your springs are already touching this is not going to improve your ride. The best part about this is they're easily adjustable when you take your camper off.

SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs item # SSR-128-47-2 are a great all around option for a camper, towing, and daily driving. They use a progressive spring rate that supports your suspension only when there's weight placed on the rear end. It will address sagging and sway but you will not feel them when you're rear end is weighted down.

The Timbren Suspension Enhancement System item # TFRTT350J are a similar set up that don't work as well as SumoSprings. These are good when you're under weight but extremely stiff and uncomfortable for daily driving. I recommend not using these.

The Firestone Airide Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs item # F95FV are going to be the top of the line option that will address squatting and sway. This are adjustable for comfort and will not negatively affect your daily driving. They are compatible with the dually models as well. I highly recommend this option.

I also recommend adding the Firestone Air Command Heavy Duty Air Compressor item # F66VV to your truck. This onboard compressor will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air bags from your phone.

Have heavy is your camper and do you have a dually?
