Is There a Way to Transport a 225 lb Honda CRF150F Dirt Bike with a 2016 Acura TLX

Question:
I would like to transport my Honda CRF150F dirt bike 225 lbs. with my 2016 Acura TLX. The TLX owners manual states that towing with the TLX may void the warranty, so I have been looking on your website for a carrier and hitch the TLX currently does not have a hitch to transport the bike. However, all the carriers I can find on your site require a 2 inch receiver, and the only hitch I see on your site for the TLX has a 1-1/4 inch receiver and has a 200 lb. tongue load limit. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Since both trailer hitches for your 2016 Acura TLX, Curt # C11535 and Draw-Tite # 24942, have a 200 lb tongue weight, even if there was a carrier that fit the smaller 1-1/4" receiver the weight of both the carrier and your Honda CRF150F dirt bike would be well over that. This means that the only option for you to transport your dirt bike with that vehicle is by towing it with a trailer.
Your owner's manual does state that towing may void your warranty but it is worth noting that you are protected by the Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The Act states that if something breaks on your vehicle and you take it in for warranty repair, the dealer must honor your warranty unless whatever modifications you have added to your vehicle actually caused the problem in question. So basically if you need to take your vehicle in for work you will have to prove that the installation of the hitch (and I'd imagine you towing with it) didn't cause the issue that you're having with the vehicle.
If you choose to go the route of towing a trailer then you need the T-One # 118697 for the trailer lights and then a ball mount and hitch ball combo like what comes with the Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45147. I have attached a link to our selection of ball mount as well as a helpful article showing how to choose the correct rise/drop for your towing setup.
Aside from this you need to find a different vehicle that is better equipped to use for transporting your dirt bike. Personally I'd say go with the different vehicle route but unless you can borrow it from someone that makes for a very expensive fix.
