Availability of Replacement Round Magnet for Older Dexter 6,000 Pound Brakes

I have an old trailer with 6000 # Dexter axles. The magnets are round, not oval. They measures 2 3/8 in diameter by about 7/8 thick. The slot is about 1 inch long on one side and inch cross or + shaped on the opposite side of the magnet. Will these oval shaped magnets replace what I have now? Thank you

I do have a solution for you, however we don't have a replacement brake magnet available that will work on your older 6,000 pound Dexter Axles. The round magnets you have pictured are pretty old models that aren't made anymore and the current oval design won't be compatible as replacements.
With this in mind your best option at this point will be to replace the brake assemblies themselves. For 6,000 pound assemblies the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Brake Kit # 23-458-459 will work great. Both the Left Hand and Right Hand are included and the Nev-R-Adjust design eliminates the need for periodic manual adjustments.
I just recommend making sure that their 5 bolt pattern matches the existing mounting flange on your axle. I have attached an image to assist.
