Recommended 7-Way Wiring on 2019 Kia Sorento for Travel Trailer Connection

I just purchased a 2019 Kia Sorento and need to hook up to a 7 pin plug on a travel trailer so that it will power the 12v circuits on the RV and recharge the RV battery as well as just operate the rear lights. What do you recommend?

If your 2019 Kia Sorento has the factory tow package then I recommend starting with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56332 which will connect to the wiring harness located along the frame rail at the rear of your vehicle. If you don't have the factory tow package then I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118583 which connects behind your tail lights and draws power directly from your vehicle battery.

Once you have a 4-way in place, then you can use the # ETBC7L to get that 12V power and the 7-way trailer connector. I've attached an article to assist. If the trailer has electric brakes, then you may also be interested in the Curt Echo Wireless brake controller # C51180 which would require no further wiring. If you are interested in another brake controller then you would instead use # ETBC7 to hardwire that controller as well. My favorite is the RedArc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR because it installs cleanly to your dash to give a factory look. The quality and function of this controller is equal with the best in the industry. It will be a great addition if you will be towing a trailer with brakes.
