What Causes a Brake Magnet To Fall Off After Removing the Hub

Question:

Putting drum back on and wondering what holds the magnet on? Light spring behind it . When I pulled drum off magnet just fell off

Expert Reply:

The brake magnet is held onto an electric braking assembly with a clip. It is not impossible for these to work themselves out over time so I would make sure that you still have the clip in place. The clip is located inside the center of the magnet (see photo). If you need to replace this and you have 10" or 12" assemblies then you can use the part # BP19-001.
