Features to know about

Runs Cooler with Oil Bath System: Low Maintenance Operation

Keeping things moving smoothly is simple with the Dexter oil bath design. The clear oil cap lets you check the lubricant level at a glance without tearing anything apart, and the oil bath keeps friction down so the hub runs cooler and lasts longer. It’s a convenient setup that cuts down on maintenance time and makes it easy to spot when a top-off is needed.

Ready for the Job: Fits 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb Axles

Built for serious work, this hub-and-drum assembly is made for 5,200-lb, 6,000-lb, and 7,000-lb axles. The sturdy iron construction provides a solid surface for the brake shoes to grip when the brakes are applied, giving dependable braking performance when hauling heavy loads. With a weight capacity of 3,500 lbs per hub, it’s a strong, reliable choice for demanding use.

Complete Kit for Straightforward Installation: Bearings, Races, and Seal Included

Everything you need to mount the hub is in the box. It comes with the inner bearing (25580) and race (25520), outer bearing (14125A) and race (14276), oil seal (10-10 with 2.125" ID and 3.376" OD), oil cap, wheel bolts, and lug nuts. The parts are matched to work together so you can bolt it up and get back on the road without hunting for extra pieces.

Built to Match Standard 8-on-6-1/2 Bolt Pattern: 12" x 2" Drum for 12" Brakes

This assembly uses the proven 8-on-6-1/2 bolt pattern with 1/2" wheel bolts and works with 12" brake assemblies. It’s made for wheel sizes from 16" to 17-1/2", giving a wide range of fitment options for common trailer setups. The 12"-diameter by 2"-wide drum ensures proper braking surface for consistent stopping power mile after mile.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Easy to install

by:

Original parts were wrong. Talked with Tara and she fixed the problem. Thank you for taking care of the issue.

by:

Service and delivery was spot on staff that I talked to were great thanks it won’t be the last time I order

by:

We received only three of the four packages that were supposed to have arrived… not sure where the fourth is, but we’re in a real pickle without it.!

by:

Arrived quickly. Even though item was heavy it was packaged well with no damage. First time buying from this site and was very pleased.

by:

The product was just what I ordered but the packaging was inadequate for the weight of the hub. The package came apart and was retaped by ups. Since the package was damaged, several prices were missing and one of the bearings was damaged. I was able to get by with purchasing the missing and damaged items locally.

by:

great product for the price. have had no problems with them at all

by:

Ordered yesterday and had it the next morning. very fast shipping and excellent product and service

by:

It was easy finding the right hub for the trailer. Everything was correct and made the job easy to complete.

by:

Need to ship in better packaging. Boxes came in with holes. Parts were missing.
Replacement parts were sent out but the job is now delayed waiting on the parts.

by:

Hub was exactly as described. Perfect fit and replacement.
Great Price!!!!!

by:

One hub arrived damaged, poor packaging. Also these are single units Not pairs. Be prepared to buy per wheel as needed.

by:

Good price and free shipping. Thank You

by:

The hub and bearings came quickly, fit perfectly, and have run as they should. I'm a happy customer.

by:

Product was an exact replacement part and fit perfectly. Quality, service, and price were all excellent. Only took 3 businee days to receive my order. Had my 53 ft car hauler up and running just a few hours after parts arrived. Thank you etrailer

by:

Im only giving a level of three star because I really only needed the spindle but it was not in stock, and the time to restock was far to long, so I paid much more and guess I have a spare hub now. Delivery was quick and the product is good. Thank You

by:

The break parts are like original. When we got it back together we got our trailer DOT certified.Life can go on.

by:

I received my parts on time and in good order. I ordered two left hand brake assemblies, and two right hand assemblies. Unfortunately, four right hand units were delivered. To the companies credit, they refunded me for two of the units. Also the knock off oil bath 12 inch Dexter brake drum hub assemblies, which were very good quality, did not have the oil drain hole drilled in the side of the hub like the originals. This made it slightly more difficult to fill them with oil and they also will be more difficult to drain them, add oil and refill. I will be tempted to purchase the original Dexters in the future.

by:

everything fit great

by:

Best choice I have ever made. My fifth wheeler tires never get higher than 90degrees F on the roads from the good old Texas. Equivalent to 3K miles round trip to my beautiful twin cities MN.

by:

The prosses of ordering parts from etrailer was very Stright forward and prompt updates on my item were quite helpful.

by:

Perfect fit. I bought these because I wanted to change my horse trailer from No. 2 wheel bearing grease to No. 00 semi fluid grease. It’s the best characteristics of both grease and oil hubs without the negatives if you ask me. Well I needed a vented hub so the oil bath hubs. A tube and a half later of Schaeffer’s 274 Moly EP synthetic NLGI#00 grease and all bearings packed, hubs half full of grease and everything torqued to spec and I was done. There really is no better place for trailer parts than etrailer. Best prices and fast shipping.

by:

Great product I installed them and put 8000 miles on my trailer after. No problems as of yet really impressed with the overall quality. THANKS

  • How to Determine if Trailer Hub 8-219-9UC3 Would Fit Spindle
I'd need more info on your axles to know if the hub you mentioned would fit. Is there a sticker or label on it with any info/part numbers? Otherwise you'd have to pull off a hub to get me the dimensions of the spindle or the bearing numbers. The # 8-219-9UC3 uses bearing numbers 25580 and 14125A and has spindle dimensions of 1.25 inch and 1.75 inch.

Hey Edward, The difference between the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb Axles # 8-219-9UC3 and # 8-219-9UC3-A is the grease seal. • Are Oil bath Hubs a Better Option for My 7,000 Lbs Axles Than Using Grease Hubs
The main reason people like oil bath hubs over grease hubs is the oil bath hubs have a less involved maintenance schedule than grease hubs. It is recommended to inspect and repack grease wheel bearings and seals every 12k miles. With oil bath hubs, Dexter recommends to periodically check and refill when necessary. It is also recommended to use a high quality hypoid gear oil in SAE 90, 80W-90 or 75W-90 weights. However, periodic inspection of you wheel bearings should not be abandoned...
