Question:
I have a 2018 Tundra and understand that the Prodigy P3 adapter harness will not work on 2018 and up Tundras. I have the factory brake controller I am removing. Will this adapter hook directly into my Tundra plug on the truck side, and I can then I can splice the P3 wiring into the Curt harness?

For your 2018 Toyota Tundra, the Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Dual Plug In # 3031-P may plug into your Tundra but according to my tech contact it will not work based on their testing. Even though Curt carried their harness over he can't confirm it works as their testing only showed the port as a data port and doesn't provide the same functions needed. He said based on their fit on 3 separate attempts direct wiring like the # ETBC7 is the only option for a brake controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 and even then they pull the brake light signal from the tail lights in the rear because the headliner is too difficult to mess with.
I called my contact at Curt and they confirmed they have tested the # C51455 and it worked well. Since we haven't physically tested ourselves we are going off their fit guide. Obviously this is conflicting info since they connect to the same port. Based on this info, in theory the # 3031-P would do the exact same thing as splicing the # C51455 and hardwiring the pigtail to the connector.
If you want a confirmed option that doesn't require any wiring at all, then the Curt Echo # C51180 is the route to go. You won't need to do anything to your factory brake controller as this will simply override it so you will get braking functions and the settings through the mobile app. This is the definitive it will work option.
