Will Trailer Hitch for 2018 Honda Odyssey Void Warranty

The use of an aftermarket trailer hitch will not void the warranty on your 2018 Honda Odyssey. You are protected by what is called the Federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act, which says if something breaks on your vehicle and you take it in for warranty repair, the dealer must honor your warranty unless whatever you have added to your vehicle or its installation actually caused the problem in question.

With that in mind I highly recommend the Curt # C13370 trailer hitch for your '18 Odyssey because it is the easiest hitch to install; there is no drilling into the frame of your vehicle required to install. I have added a link to the instructions as well as a video showing the installation of the hitch on a 2018 Honda Odyssey. The accompanying photos also show what the hitch looks like when installed on this car.

This is a 2" hitch with a 525 lb tongue weight capacity and 3,500 lb towing capacity; it is made in the USA and comes with a lifetime warranty. If you have the hands-free liftgate on your Odyssey that will still work as well, you'll just have to kick your foot off to one side of the Curt # C13370 trailer hitch as opposed to the center where the receiver is.

For wiring which will give you a 4-way connector and allow you to power your trailer's lights you need Wiring Harness # 118781. I have added a link to a video of this harness being installed on an Odyssey for you to take a look at. I also recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which is for 2” hitches and may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop - a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip.
