How to Install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness on a 2019 Honda Odyssey

Speaker 1: Today on our 2019 Honda Odyssey you're going to be taking a look at . I'm going to show you how to install the T1 vehicle wiring harness with upgraded circuit protected ModuLite HD modules. Part number 118781.This is gonna be one of the most important parts of your wiring. This is your module box and what this does is protects your factory wire from any back feed from your trailer if your trailer has a wiring issue. One nice thing about this Tekonsha box is all the wires come into one end here and they attach to a circuit board. On the bottom here there is potting material. That potting material fills the hole inside of this.

What that potting material is gonna do, it's gonna cut down on any vibrations that may cause wiring to come disconnected from the circuit board inside. If this happens to come loose inside the vehicle, maybe move around, again that potting material is gonna hold those connections really well. You're gonna have your four volt connections. It's gonna give you all your lighting functions to connect to your trailer. You're gonna have a fuse holder that is attached to your wiring and then this is gonna connect directly to the factory wiring on the vehicle. This is a very simple installation. It plus right into the back on the inside of the vehicle on the driver's side right next to the fuse panel.

That plug is right there to connect to. You're also gonna have your ground wire. Everything fits very nicely. You're also gonna have your fuses to help complete your installation. What our wiring looks like when it's installed. This wiring is going to live inside of the vehicle.

It's gonna give you your proper lighting functions to safely tow your trailer. It's gonna give you your right turn single, left turn single, brake rights, running lights. Again, this is gonna live inside of the vehicle so when not in use, you can simply roll it up and store it in your cargo area here or you can stuck it right here in your pocket. When you are ready to use it you simply pull it out, pull out what you need and you're gonna lay it over top this rubber seal. You want to make sure you stay away from any points of contact like this here between your hatch and your vehicle, itself.Once you got out what you needed, simply close your hatch and you're ready to hook up to your trailer.

This is gonna have an included dust cap. It's gonna help keep your connections clean of any dirt and debris. Now that we've gone over some of the features of what comes in the kit, let me show you how to get installed. First thing we need to do to start our installation, get access to your rear cargo area. On your driver's side you're gonna have a panel right here. We're gonna pop that off and you're gonna see a fuse panel and you should see a blue plug. We're gonna pull this blue plug out like this. On the end of our wiring harness we're gonna have a blue plug. Those two are gonna be fitted together. Before doing that, what we're gonna do is we're gonna take the four full end of our wire. I'm gonna route this through and then down underneath here. Let's see if I can. Take our plugs, push them until you hear it click. We're gonna need to secure our box. There's not really anywhere we can get in there to stick it with a double-sided sticky tape that they give you. There's not really any good flat spots. There's one right here against this panel we might be able to get to. We can get it in there. We take our double-sided sticky tape here, peal off one side, press it into place, make sure it sticks good. We'll take our box and we're gonna stick it right inside here. On the backside of this panel there's a nice flat spot. Get that pushed into place.I'm gonna take my self-tightening screw, quarter inch socket. You want to make sure this is on metal. It's kind of hard to get anywhere on the body itself, but this bracket here that our fuse panel is mounted to is attached to the body of the vehicle, so that will be good enough to mount our ground wire to. So, we'll take our self-tightening screw that comes in our kit, put it right there.Lager 15 amp fuse. We're gonna insert it into the holder on the wiring harness. You're gonna have a slow blow fuse that looks like this. It's gonna go in spot 12, which is gonna be this one year. Go ahead insert that. And you're gonna have two micro fuses that look like this. These are gonna go in spot 10 and 11, which are gonna be these bottom two spots here. Take these . Gonna slide these in. Once you got those in, go ahead and tuck our wires. Our panel put back in place. Now we'll test out our wiring using part number I26. Left turn. Right turn. Brake lights. Running lights. That'll do it for a look at and installation on a T1 vehicle wiring harness with upgraded circuit protected ModuLite HD module, part number 118781 on our 2019 Honda Odyssey.
