Question:
I already have a 7-way on my 2018 4Runner because it came with the tow package. Do you have a brake controller that you recommend as well as a 4-way/7-way dual connector? Thank you.

The brake controller that I recommend for your 2018 Toyota 4Runner with the Tow Package is the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR because of how easy it is to use, the versatility in mounting locations, and the wide variety of towing applications it can accommodate. To connect this to your 4Runner you just need the adapters # 3040-P and # 331-TPH-017.
The control box for the Tow-Pro Elite is able to sense the motion of the vehicle in any orientation and then the extra slack in the wiring harness allows you to mount the control knob virtually anywhere. This controller also features proportional braking as well as user-controlled modes which let you activate the brakes at the same time and intensity as the brake pedal of your 4Runner or with a preset amount of power respectively.
For the 4-Way/7-Way combination connector we have the Curt T-Connector # C55774 which connects directly to the US Car Connection you currently have at the rear of your 4Runner.
I have attached review videos of both products so you can get an idea of how they work as well as a photo of the Tow-Pro Elite installed on a 2012 4Runner for you to reference.
