Since your 2005 Toyota 4Runner has the factory tow package with a 7-way trailer connector already in place at the back bumper you can use the two part numbers you referenced. Part # 90885 is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 proportional trailer brake controller and part # 3040-P is the quick-connect wiring adapter that allows easy connection to the port under the dash.
The linked video illustrates the installation process in a 2004 model year 4Runner and this will be essentially identical to your 2005 application. The connection point is just behind a kick panel to the left of the drivers left foot. The install consists of locating the port, connecting the harness and ground wire, and then mounting the controller in a convenient location on the lower dash.
It is important that the controller be mounted level in the horizontal plane and that it be lined up with the direction of forward travel in order to ensure proper operation of the internal sensor.
