Question:
We purchased a 2005 4runner with a tow package, that being said we have looked everywhere under the dash, near steering column, etc., and we cannot find the so called factory harness for the controller to attach to.

The factory brake controller port on the 2005 Toyota 4Runner that came with a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector is located under the dash, to the left of the steering column. It is supposed to be taped to another wiring harness near the emergency brake pedal. It is possible that it is tucked up under the dash more and not easily visible. It could also have fallen down behind the driver side kick panel. I have linked a video that should help.
