Question:

What can happen if I dont use a brake relay kit on my 2013 jeep unlimited while using the Patriot 2 brake system? Jeffrey said all kinds of things can happen. Could you be a little more specific? Is it just that turn signals wont work when braking or can something short out? I have been reading all about the Patriot and at the last minute I find out this brake relay kit must be used. Seems like this should be mentioned by etrailer sooner because it must affect most vehicles. Thanks

If the tow bar wiring setup you have installed is a kit that activates the taillights of the towed vehicle then failure to use the brake lite relay part # RM-88400 will mean that when the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is applying the vehicle brakes it will override a blinker circuit. So the brake lights would come on but you'd have no turn signals which is very dangerous.

We try to put this message in an easy to find place but it's sometimes pretty easy to overlook.
