When you’re not towing, this setup keeps your front end looking sharp. The hidden design means the brackets stay tucked behind the bumper, and the removable arms leave nothing sticking out to bump into. Pop in the included receiver covers to keep dirt and debris out of the sockets and maintain that clean, finished look until your next trip.
Hooking up shouldn’t take more than a few minutes. Each arm slides into the receiver, twists to lock, and secures with a simple pull pin. When you’re done towing, the same twist motion releases them just as easily. The design makes it fast to connect or disconnect whether you’re in your driveway or out on the road.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis—no welding required. The sturdy steel brackets distribute towing forces evenly across the frame to help prevent stress on suspension components. Apparently the very-qualified shop had quite a time installing these on my 2018 F-150 Limited (adaptive cruise control and other issues...), but they work wonderfully! I have towed the truck several times now with them on, and no problems whatsoever. Once at the destination, the chrome part comes off, and it's almost like they aren't even there. Other than installation (which is more an issue with my truck than the part itself), they're pretty much perfect.
Direct bolt on for flat towing my F-150. Works great and looks good.

Blue Ox is a Functionally excellent product. After a year all the paint is gone and the rusty base plates make my SUV (towed/daily driver) look like crap (2017 Expedition). And i wish they were more subtle appearance.

The baseplate and tail light installation was pretty straight forward. My son has a lift in his garage which definitely aided getting everything installed including routing the breakaway switch and light wiring. As always etrailer was great!

Easy to install with common tools. I was able to do the install solo, but another pair of hands would make things easier. They blend in with the vehicle and are hardly visible with the arms removed.

I have had these quick connect base plates on my ford expedition for a year now and they have worked with no issues. Currently I am writing this review from Bryce Canyon National Park were we towed our ford over 2400 miles without issue. The only negative feedback I would give is the power coding is starting to come off around the safety hook loops. Hopefully this issue has been addressed in later versions. I do enjoy using etrailer and will use them again for sure.
It's a great system, it's on a 1998 Holiday Rambler Imperial, pulling a 2012 Ford F150 4x4. Last summer I pulled the truck for over 3000 miles without any problems, didn't feel like the truck was behind me. etrailer did me right on this set up.
Installation was a breeze and it is still working flawless a year later. Purchased the entire towing setup from e-trailer. Fast delivery within the week after the order. Great follow-up from staff.

I was given a Blue Ox Tow Bar and needed Base Plates for my Ford F150. In my online search, E-Trailer had the best price, so I ordered them. Delivery was a few days earlier than expected. I read the installation instructions and it sounded fairly simple to install, so I decided to tackle it myself. I began it about six pm and had the job completed and cleaned up in just over two hours. The job required removal of the bumper and tow hooks and drilling of two holes. Also William at E-trailer was of great help in the correct parts and keeping me informed of the delivery.
